How the Pills Will beTested
As much testing as possible will be done without using any animals at all.
Any testing with animals (dogs/cats) will be completely humane and will not involve any harm to any animals -- nor will any animal be killed. At all times, they will be treated as well as we treat our companion animals.
Female animals will be fed the pills, allowed to mate, and will then be observed to see if they become pregnant. Male animals will have their semen collected and examined.
At the end of the testing, all animals will be spayed or neutered and adopted out. Any infants born will also be spayed or neutered and adopted.
During the tests, animals will live in closely-monitored, private homes or in group housing. When possible, testing will be carried out on islands already populated with free-roaming dogs and or cats.
To obtain F.D.A. approval for access to the U.S. market, the F.D.A. may likely require further testing, in which case we will work closely with them to find a way to meet their requirements in a completely humane manner, while remaining within our own guidelines.
